Towering Tundra Flower

"Towering Tundra Flower"

On the tundra, this is one of the tallest plants.

"Tundra Sunflowers"

These sunflowers grow in the high Rocky Mountains. With daytime highs in the 40s, it doesn't get warm enough for bees at these altitudes so they rely on flies for pollination. The running water behind the flowers is fed by snow-melt, in mid-August!

"Summer in Nebraska"

I took this picture in the Sandhill region of Nebraska.

"Stump-Framed Flower"

I like the contrasts of the colors and shades in this photograph.
